Clean hydration is not about trends, it's about balance. That's why LIT uses a simple formula—500 mg of sodium, 150 mg of potassium, and 60 mg of magnesium—with no sugar or fillers. Just enough to keep your body working as it should: no more, no less.
Where does this proportion come from? From science and real life in Spain: active people who train, practice intermittent fasting, and have given up the sugary "sports drinks" of old.
What we discovered is simple: you don't need to drink more, you need to drink better. And that starts by returning the minerals your body loses to water.
How we arrived at this formula
When we designed LIT in Spain, we started with one premise: many people don't hydrate properly, even when they try. By eliminating sodas and sugary drinks, sodium and mineral intake plummets, and symptoms that are mistaken for fatigue or "energy slumps" appear. In reality, it's often mild mineral dehydration.
The solution is not to drink more water, but to drink better water. And that starts by returning the minerals the body needs to maintain balance.
Sodium in LIT
Each sachet of LIT contains 500 mg of sodium. Sodium is the most underestimated mineral when we talk about well-being: it maintains fluid balance, helps stabilize blood pressure, and supports muscle and cognitive function.
Why so much focus on sodium?
- Because we sweat more than we think. During intense exertion and in hot weather, some people can lose up to 1–3 g of sodium per hour.
- Because "clean" diets are often low in sodium. When ultra-processed foods are reduced, salt intake also decreases, sometimes below recommended levels.
- Because intermittent fasting and low-carb diets increase sodium loss. With less circulating insulin, the body excretes more sodium and water through urine.
The difference with American products like LMNT is simple: LIT is adapted to European reality and the Spanish palate. It has half the sodium (500 mg compared to 1000 mg) to offer a more balanced and pleasant taste, without losing effectiveness.
Potassium in LIT
Each sachet contains 150 mg of potassium, sodium's inseparable partner. Both work together through the sodium-potassium pump (Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase), key for muscle contraction, nerve transmission, and fluid balance.
In daily life, many people can meet their potassium needs with fruits, vegetables, and legumes. That's why LIT provides a moderate dose that complements the diet without exceeding it.
Its function here is not to stand out, but to maintain a reasonable ratio (around 3–3.5:1 between sodium and potassium) that promotes optimal hydration without compromising taste.
Magnesium in LIT
60 mg per sachet. It seems like a small amount, but it's just what's needed to make a difference. Magnesium is involved in hundreds of reactions: energy production, muscle relaxation, and sleep quality, among others.
Between stress, coffee, and exercise, a mild magnesium deficiency is common. LIT includes it to support concentration and overall well-being, especially in active people or those who train while fasting.
Why LIT contains no sugar or fillers
The Spanish market is flooded with electrolyte drinks that seem healthy but hide sugar, colorings, or maltodextrin. Aquarius or Electrolit, for example, provide electrolytes... but also interrupt fasting, raise insulin, and add unnecessary calories.
LIT, made in Spain, avoids all that: essential electrolytes with no sugar or empty calories, and a mild lemon-flavored profile.
So, why only three minerals?
The human body needs seven main electrolytes: sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, phosphate, and bicarbonate. Including all of them in a drink is not always necessary or advisable.
- Chloride: already present in the form of sodium chloride and potassium chloride.
- Calcium: the Mediterranean diet usually covers it (dairy, nuts, vegetables).
- Phosphorus: very abundant in food; deficiency is rare.
- Bicarbonate: the body produces it naturally to regulate pH.
In short, no more ingredients are needed to do it well. The goal is not to add, but to balance.
The LIT approach: clean, real, and functional hydration
If you're looking for a sugar-free electrolyte drink for intermittent fasting or ketosis, the key is not "more ingredients," but the balance between sodium, potassium, and magnesium.
Each LIT sachet is a precise dose of the essentials:
- 500 mg of sodium
- 150 mg of potassium
- 60 mg of magnesium
- 0 g of sugar
Manufactured in Spain under European standards, LIT is designed for those seeking an honest, balanced, and scientifically-backed product, but one that also fits real life: training, working, performing, resting.
LIT is clean hydration, made in Spain.
No more, no less: the essential for clear thinking, energetic movement, and fast recovery.
Quick questions
Does this ratio break intermittent fasting?
No. LIT contains no sugar and provides less than 8 kcal per sachet, below the threshold that breaks fasting or ketosis.
Why less sodium than LMNT?
We sought a more balanced flavor profile for the Spanish palate while maintaining effectiveness: 500 mg of sodium per sachet compared to 1000 mg in saltier formulas.
Do I need calcium or phosphorus in the drink?
Not necessarily. The Mediterranean diet usually covers them; moreover, chloride is already present as sodium chloride and potassium chloride.
